Meet Kristian King
Hello first year students, my name is Kristian King and I will be one of many peer mentors for the
Access To Success program provided by the College of Liberal Arts. I am so
excited to be part of your college career, so I'll try my best to leave
a good lasting impression. My overall goal that I want to achieve within
ATS is to be able to help you guys to be successful first year students.
This means if there's ever something you need, just don't understand (as long
as it's not college algebra), or just need a shoulder to lean on, I'm there
as well as the other peer mentors. This was an opportunity that I
was not fortune enough to have my first year, so I feel that I should give
this privilege to you guys. So please, don't ever feel like the world is on
your shoulders; I am here, as well as the rest of ATS peers, staff and advisers, with
that helping hand and that boost of strength to make the world feel like
it's in your hands.
Now for the good part, a little background on me. I am a second year
student majoring in Health in Psychology and thinking of minoring in
study abroad. I am a volunteer at Como Park Elementary through a program
called MCEP provided by Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence. One of my
interests outside of academics is sports, and I like to play as well as watch:
basketball, volleyball, softball, and football. I love listening to music!!!
I like a little bit of everything. I like going out to the movies, museums,
arcades, bowling alleys, playing pool, or just chilling out playing cards
or the PS3 depending on my mood. The one thing I want to get across is
don't judge me off of first impression. If you do this, you won't be able
to experience for yourself what type of person I am. When this situation
comes up I like to use one of my own quotes such as "I can be the sweetest
strawberry of them all but that's only if you let me ripen long
enough...".
