Meet Ka Zua Melissa Vang

Hello everyone~!!!

Welcome to the University of Minnesota, College of Liberal Arts, and especially to the Access to Success Program. My name is Ka Zua Melissa Vang and I am from here, Minnesota, Minneapolis! I am a junior in the College of Liberal Arts. I am striving to create my own major through the Individualized Degree Program on Art Anthropology Design, as well as incorporating what my career may be with this new major. As my major may indicate, I am in love with art and culture. Some of my many hobbies are doodling, photography, and surface designing for tattoos and clothes.

The programs that I am and was part of are through the Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence:
  • Student Excellence in Academics and Multiculturalism (SEAM)
  • Family Literacy Program
  • President's Distinguished Faculty Mentoring Program (PDFMP)
  • MCAE Citizen-Scholar Fellowship Program (M3C)
  • Wallin Scholars Program

These are some of the many academic support and services that are in MCAE. There are many benefits I found that helped me be more involved and meet new people on such a large campus. Through the SEAM program, I was able to finish my first semester by going to Ecuador for a global seminar of three weeks! And in being part of the PDFMP, I was able to have a faculty mentor guide me through my interest in finding a major and networking. Although I am in many other group activities, such as Voices Merging and Hmong Minnesota Student Association, I'll be running everywhere and welcoming you all to the campus and any events! However, if you would like more information or if you have questions about any of the programs I mention, or club activities in general, please feel free to contact me anytime (via email).

I know you all will have a wonderful experience in college; make the best of it! I do look forward in seeing you all at the ATS office as well as outside on campus! You'll probably see me everywhere at most events on this campus, please make sure to say, "HEY~!" Especially look for me where there are Freebies! @(o','o)@v
